How to Choose the Best GLP-1 Tracker App: A 7-Point Checklist

Not sure which GLP-1 tracker app to download? Use this 7-point checklist to pick one you'll still be using in month three.

There are now dozens of GLP-1 tracker apps, and most of them look great in the screenshots. The real test is simpler: will you still be opening it in month three? Here's the checklist we use when we review the best GLP-1 tracker apps.

1. Does it show your shot week, not just a list of logs?

A weekly GLP-1 shot starts a 7-day loop. Many people notice side effects in the first couple of days after a dose and food noise creeping back toward the end of the week. A good tracker lays that week out so you can see where you are today and what usually happens next. A long scrolling log of entries doesn't do that on its own.

2. Can you log a day in under ten seconds?

The most common reason people abandon a tracker is effort. Look for one- or two-tap check-ins for the things that matter (nausea, tiredness, low appetite, food noise) rather than long forms.

3. Shot reminders and injection-site rotation

Shot-day reminders and a rotation across belly, thighs and arms are basic requirements. If an app makes these awkward, skip it.

4. Protein and water goals

Eating less is the point of the medication, which makes protein and hydration easy to miss. Simple daily goals beat full calorie counting for most people. Your clinician or a dietitian can help set targets that suit you.

5. Pattern spotting over time

After a few weeks the useful question becomes "what tends to happen to me?" The best apps surface patterns, such as which day of the week your rough days cluster on, without you building a spreadsheet.

6. A log you can share with your prescriber

An export of doses, symptoms and weight makes appointments faster, especially when you're discussing a dose change.

7. A reason to come back tomorrow

Streaks, badges and weekly recaps sound gimmicky, but consistency is what makes tracking useful. Small rewards genuinely help.

Which app ticks the most boxes?

In our side-by-side testing, Heptsy came out on top because its Week Wheel™ shows your whole shot week in one circle, flags your personal patterns, and keeps daily logging to about two taps. See the full comparison in our guide to the best GLP-1 tracker apps.

Our #1 pick: Heptsy

See your whole shot week in one circle, spot your rough days and food-noise patterns, and keep your streak with two taps a day.
